- Day 1: Kunming ArrivalYunnan Minority Village, Green Lake Park
Welcome to Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province. Upon arrival at the airport or train station, you will be welcomed by your guide who will assist you during your stay in Kunming.
If you arrive early, take this opportunity to visit the Yunnan Minority Village. This village showcases the rich cultural diversity of Yunnan Province, with various ethnic minorities displaying their traditional costumes, handicrafts and customs. Engage with the locals, watch traditional performances, and learn about the region's unique traditions and heritage.
Or, you can visit Green Lake Park, a picturesque park known for its tranquil lake surrounded by beautiful gardens. Take a leisurely walk around the lake, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, and observe the locals engaging in various activities such as dancing, singing, and playing traditional musical instruments.
In the evening, spend some time relaxing and freshening up in your hotel. You can also explore the nearby areas and taste some local delicacies.
- Day 2: Kunming TourStone Forest, Yuantong Temple
After breakfast, your tour guide will pick you up from the hotel lobby and transfer you to Stone Forest, located about 78 kilometers east of Kunming. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this extraordinary natural wonder is known for its forest-like tall limestone formations. You will explore the maze of trails between towering stone pillars and marvel at the unique geological formations that have been shaped by centuries of natural processes. Capture some stunning photos and immerse yourself in the breathtaking scenery.
After spending the morning in Stone Forest, you will be treated to a delightful local lunch at a quaint courtyard restaurant with Stone Forest Park as a backdrop. You'll sample the flavors of Yunnan cuisine, which is known for its variety of ingredients and bold flavors.
After lunch, continue your visit to Yuantong Temple located in the heart of Kunming. Dating back over 1,200 years, this temple is considered one of the most important Buddhist temples in Yunnan. In the late afternoon, you will be escorted back to the hotel and take the evening to rest. You can explore the local area, dine at the restaurant of your choice, or simply relax and prepare for the adventure the next day.
Note: If you are interested in Karst caves, we suggest you go to Jiuxiang Cave (additional charge) after visiting the Stone Forest. It takes about an hour to get there.
- Day 3: Departure from KunmingWestern Hills, Jingxing Flower and Bird Market
Today's tour takes you to the Western Hills, just outside of Kunming. These mountains are known for their beautiful scenery, lush forests, and panoramic views of the city. One of the highlights of the Western Hills is the Dragon Gate, a series of intricate sculptures and pavilions carved into the cliffs. Witness impressive craftsmanship as you walk along the narrow paths and through arched gates. Enjoy the spiritual atmosphere and you will get breathtaking panoramic views from the Dragon Gate.
After descending from the hills, you will visit Jingxing Flower and Bird Market. This bustling market offers a vibrant display of colorful birds, exotic flowers, bonsai trees, and other local products. You can immerse yourself in a lively atmosphere, interact with friendly vendors, and even purchase a unique souvenir to commemorate your trip.
