Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Dali arrival
   Old Town of Dali (No meals)

   The private guide and driver will greet you holding a name-board at the airport upon your arrival, and then transfer you to your hotel for check-in. You will reside in Old Town of Dali, where you can stroll along the alleys of the ancient city and enjoy its languid atmosphere. You can also catch the sight of those wearing traditional ethnic costumes, and take a leisure walk in the market street selling various souvenirs. In addition, there are also some historic sites like city wall, Foreigners Street, Gate Towers and so on. Enjoy your first relaxing day with the guide if you arrive early.

   

2. Day 2: Dali
   Cangshan Mountain, Three Pagoda Temple, Erhai Lake (B+L)

   AM: Meet your guide after breakfast, then we head to famous Cangshan Mountain. You will take the ropeway up the mountain to feel the vagaries of mountain clouds and fog. With the gradual rise of the ropeway you can overlook the entire Erhai lake, which is extremely seductive. There is a 18 kilometers long trail built on the hillside of the mountain, known as the “jade belt roaming road”. Walking on the 2,600-meter-high jade belt road, you can overlook the scenery of Dali dam and Erhai lake at any time. Along the road, you will pass several mini sites including Xima Pond and Zhonghe Temple, etc. You will take the ropeway down the mountain and then reward your appetite with Yunnan cuisine.

   Noon: Lunch at local restaurant.

   PM: Later on, you will visit the Three Pagoda Temple, with Erhai Lake in the east and Cangshan Mountain in the west, and have a close contact with the only historical site left in the royal temple – the three pagodas, which is seen as the symbol of Dali. Finally, you will also skirt the Erhai Lake by a horse-drawn carriage, enjoying its beautiful scenery and story of the lake.

   At the end of today, the guide will escort you to your hotel.

   

3. Day 3: Dali Departure
   Bai Minority Traditional Houses, Yan’s Family (B+L)

   AM: In the morning you will be transferred to Bai Minority Traditional Houses in Xizhou. Follow your guide to explore the distinctive dwellings with typical minority culture, and you may also have a chance to see the process of local food making, which is called Baba as the specialty.

   Next move to Zhoucheng to explore the ancient handcraft of tie-dying. You will have the chance to enter the workshop to learn the procedure of the skill, and try to do it personally on your willingness.

   Later on you will stop by a former mansion of Yan’s Family where you can know the layout of Chinese courtyard of Bai minority style, and appreciate its wood sculpture as well as the architectural ornament.

   Noon: Lunch at local restaurant.

   PM: The tour will conclude here and the guide will see you off at the airport or train station for your departure. Our service ends here.
