In the afternoon at about 5:30 pm, the Chengdu guide will pick you up from your downtown hotel lobby. Then transfer you to a local hotpot restaurant. On the way, she/he will give you some basic information about Hotpot and Sichuan Opera.
Upon arrival in the restaurant, you will be led to the table we reserved for you. Take the seat and your dinner will start! In the table center, there is a metal pot in which there is hotpot soup. As soon as the soup starts boiling, you can drop in any ingredients you like ā fresh vegetables, tender beef, slices of fish, seafood, or other tasty options you want to try. Let them cook for a few minutes, then enjoy them flavorfully. Every bite will bring rich aromas and delicious tastes that are sure to make your meal impressive.
After dinner, you will be transferred to a traditional tea house to enjoy a pot of tea and watch the Sichuan Opera Face-Changing. Sichuan Opera is one of the best-known traditional operas in China, and Face-Changing Performance is one of the stunts of Sichuan Opera. No matter how close you are to the actors, you can not find how they change faces tens of times. To watch the performance, you donāt need to know any Chinese; what you see will be the biggest surprise! When the show ends, you will be escorted back to the hotel.
