Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Chengdu Arrival

   Hello! Welcome to this 4-day Chengdu vacation tour! Upon your arrival at Chengdu airport/train station, your local private driver will pick you up from the exit gate with a board "China Xian Tour" and send you to the downtown hotel for check-in. The rest of today is free for you to relax on your own.

2. Day 2: Essence in Chengdu City
   Explore Pandas and Chengdu's Local Culture and Cuisine

   Meet your Chengdu tour guide at 8:30 am in the lobby. First, go to visit Chengdu's most popular site - Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. The goal of the base is to protect and breed endangered wild animals unique to China, such as giant and red pandas. This breeding base simulates a wild ecological environment with features such as lakes, streams, bamboo forests, and lawns. They have several facilities for pandas - delivery rooms, breeding areas, research centers, etc. The park has many adorable giant pandas that you can watch and observe during their daily activities.

   

   Next, transfer for you to the most well-preserved Buddhist temple in Chengdu - Wenshu Temple. The tour guide will take you to see 6 main halls, as well as the Thousand Buddhas Peace Pagoda. In the halls, see over 300 statues of Buddha made from copper, stone, jade, and colored sculptures, along with relics of Buddha, and other Buddhist precious items. The Thousand Buddhas Pagoda, built in 1988, is made in the shape of a hexagon, 21 meters tall with 11 storeys. It is a iron tower named for 1000 Buddha statues.

   In the afternoon, be led to witness the local life in Chengdu. People's Park is the main leisure place where you can see people dancing, ear cleaning, and playing mahjong. The park also has attractions such as Jinshui Creek, Goldfish Island, and Bonsai Garden for visitors. Jinli Street has been famous throughout the country as early as the Qin and Han dynasties. Walking on the busy street, there are delicious special snacks everywhere such as Dandan Noodles, Zhong Dumplings, BO BO Chicken, and Rabbit Head. If you're lucky, you can see folk art performances. After the tour, we will take you back to your downtown hotel.

   In the evening, you can experience our optional activities: Sichuan cuisine / hotpot as dinner, or Sichuan opera performances (for an additional fee, please inform your tour guide or travel consultant in advance).

3. Day 3: Chengdu to Yibin by High-speed Train
   Immerse in Tranquil Landscapes and Bamboo Culture

   This morning we take the high-speed train to Yibin. After arrival, drive for 30 minutes to reach today's destination - Shunan Bamboo Sea. Check in at the hotel in the tourist resort, take a short break and start today's tour.

   With bamboo scenery as the main feature and over 500 peaks, Shunan Bamboo Sea, boasting the forest coverage of 93%, is a natural green oxygen bar. In this summer resort, you can also see landscapes such as lakes, waterfalls, and ancient temples. After lunch, take a sightseeing bus to visit and save energy. Shunan Bamboo Sea Museum displays over 300 exhibits of bamboo weaving, bamboo carving, and bamboo reed crafts, providing you with a brief understanding of bamboo species.

   

   The gate of Forgetting Worry Valley is built with bamboo. After entering, you will be greeted by Culture Street. The street is paved with natural red sandstone, and on the right is a clear stream hidden by lush bamboo. On the left is a bamboo corridor built along the mountain, displaying handicrafts such as bamboo chopsticks and bamboo chairs. Afterward, take the cableway through the bamboo forest, with a total length of 2,742 meters. Along the way, see lush bamboo forests and waterfalls. The mountaintop provides a panoramic view of the bamboo sea. After the sightseeing, return to the hotel to rest.

4. Day 4: Departure from Chengdu
   Experience a Bamboo Raft and Catch the Rainbow Waterfall

   Wake up with fresh air. In the morning, take the sightseeing bus to continue exploring the Shunan Bamboo Sea Resort. Xianyu Cave is a must see spot, known as the 'Pearl of the Bamboo Sea'. It is located in a natural rock cavity with a hanging cliff, and only a winding and steep stone staircase leads into the cave. Walk east to reach Tianbaozhai. Located on 1000 meters high, half hanging on a dangerous cliff, it looks quite thrilling.

   Haizhong Lake is a famous filming location for the movie "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon". Be arranged to experience a bamboo raft. The bamboo forest reflects beautifully on the lake surface. Climbing to the second highest peak of the Bamboo Sea (980 meters above sea level), you will visit Longyin Temple. Follow the guide to visit pavilions, halls, and appreciate the exquisite stone carvings. A few more steps up, get the panoramic view of the temple.

   

   Luohun Terrace, also known as the Rainbow Waterfall, is divided into four levels and cascades down the cliff, with a drop of nearly 200 meters. At noon on a sunny day, visitors can see a rainbow at the bottom of the pond. Your vacation ends here. Afterward, we will take the high-speed train back to Chengdu.
