3 Day Guilin Tour with Yangshuo and Xingping

Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival in Guilin

   Hello! Welcome to our 3-day private Guilin tour! After you arrive, our local driver will pick you up at the airport or train station exit and take you to a hotel in the city for check-in. You can arrange the remaining time on your own. There is no tour guide today. If you want to visit some scenic spots on your own, we have some recommendations as follows:

   Elephant Trunk Hill is a landmark building in Guilin, located at the confluence of the Li River and Taohua River. Standing 55 meters above the river, it is composed of limestone dating back 360 million years. You will see it like an elephant drinking water.

   At night, you can take a boat tour of the Two Rivers and Four Lakes region. Appreciate the beautiful night view, with sparkling lights reflecting on the calm water surface, ancient bridges, and traditional pagodas.

2. Day 2: Guilin to Yangshuo, Then Travel to Xingping
   ‌Sail Past Karst Wonders and Cycle through Yangshuo's Villages

   After breakfast, the guide will pick you up in the hotel lobby and take you to the dock in Guilin. There, she/he will accompany you on a 3-star cruise ship that flows downstream Li River, filled with karst landforms and pastoral scenery along the way. The first thing you see is 'Carp Hanging on the Wall' - the natural carp pattern on the mountain wall is vivid and lifelike. Next is the famous 'Nine-Horse Fresco Hill'. Use your imagination to count nine galloping horses on the cliff. When the ship passes through Yellow Cloth Shoal, the clear river water reflects the green mountains on both sides, which is the scenery at 20 RMB.

   Continuing forward, you will pass through the "Snail Mountain" resembling a snail and the "Beauty Peak" resembling a girl dressing up in a mirror. When you are about to arrive in Yangshuo, you can see the Yangshuo landmark "Green Lotus Peak" - the whole mountain is like a blooming lotus flower.

   

   After a 4-hour cruise, dock in Yangshuo Town. The driver will take you to a local hotel in Yangshuo for a short rest. Afterwards, you can rent a bicycle to explore the postcard beautiful rice fields and karst peaks. Passing through some villages, you may see local farmers busy farming their fields. Finally, we arrive at West Street, the busiest street in Yangshuo. There are Western style bars and restaurants as well as local specialty souvenir shops here. If interested, you can try beer fish or enjoy a cup of coffee in a leisurely cafe.

   After dinner (not included), we drive to Xingping Ancient Town. This is a fishing village with a history of over a thousand years, located in the most beautiful section of the Li River. In the evening, you can visit the scene of fishermen catching fish with cormorants at your own expense. The rosy glow dyes the sky red, reflecting in the river, very beautiful and spectacular.

3. Day 3: Xingping Back to Guilin, Departure
   ‌Witness Living History and Li River's Silver Bends

   After breakfast, be guided to tour Xingping Ancient Town. Here are well preserved Ming and Qing architectural complexes, with old houses with upturned eaves on both sides of the bluestone road. You will see that local residents still maintain the traditional pace of life.

   

   Then we go to the best observation deck on the Li River, which is the real-life location of the 20 yuan back design. The emerald green river water surrounds the misty karst peaks. If a fisherman passes by on a raft, it perfectly reproduces the classic scene on paper currency.

   Finally, climb to the top of the famous photography mountain - Laozhai Mountain (300 meters/984 feet). The Li River forms a spectacular 180 degree turn here. Looking into the distance from a high altitude, the winding river flows like silver chains linking jade like peaks and forests, and the mountains in the mist are faintly visible, forming a flowing ink scroll. This location, once selected by international film festivals, has a panoramic view of the most essence of the Li River.

   Your 3-day Guiling Yangshuo Xingping tour ends here. Then you will be escorted back to Guilin for your departure.
