Your private guide and driver will pick you up at about 9:00 am from your Huangshan downtown hotel and drive about 1.5 hours to Hongcun Ancient Village. More than 800-year-old Hongcun is a typical representative of Hui-style buildings, mainly in black, white, and grey colors. It was listed as a World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2000.
You will see many original residences from the Ming and Qing dynasties here, among which Chengzhi Hall is an architectural masterpiece and enjoys the name of “Folk Forbidden City”. It has a lot of complex wood carvings with great artistic value. Also, stroll along the South Lake and absorb in the picturesque scenery.

After a Chinese-style lunch, we will drive about 15 minutes to Mukeng Bamboo Forest, only 6 kilometers away from Hongcun. Upon arrival, start exploring the bamboo forest with the West Sea. Walk along the West Sea Corridor to the Viewing Deck on which we can have a panoramic view of the large bamboo forest and Mukeng Village. The village is tucked away in the forest, like a retreat away from the turmoil of the world.
Then walk down the mountain to the village. There are about a dozen families still living here. We can have a glimpse of the villagers’ life. Then continue to the South Sea. We will pass by a Bamboo Monster City in which you can see various monsters made of bamboo (optional with an extra fee). Walking to the end, you will see a beautiful small lake. There is also a cable car available and optional. In nice weather, visitors even can see the sea of clouds like that on Huangshan Mountain.
After a whole day tour of Huangshan, your guide and driver will escort you back to your hotel.
