Red soil, yellow soil, yellow brown soil, and plateau grassland are distributed in a ladder-like pattern along the height. The peak cliff landform and granite core complex structure make up the majority of Wugong Mountain’s geological structure, suggesting that the mountain was formerly a solitary island in the Hunan-Jiangxi sea region. Gneiss, granite, and limestone make up the majority of Wugong Mountain’s landscape, which is steep and towering with a typical elevation of over 1000 meters and numerous peaks reaching up to 1500 meters.
Because Wugong Mountain was formed during the Cambrian, Carboniferous, Triassic, and other periods, its lithology, fracture development, and limestone thickness vary. As a result, the surface karst has developed lonely peaks, residual mountains, dissolved pipelines, dissolved gullies, and depressions in addition to undulating hills and saw-shaped monopolised summits. With varying proportions of underground rivers and caverns, the underground also took on an odd shape. Furthermore, a range of ice erosion and ice accumulation landforms have been created as a result of glacier activity.
