One Day Dujiangyan Panda and Mt. Qingcheng Tour
Tour Overview
For tourists looking for the best places to visit pandas in China, we recommend two: Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, which is closer to the city, and the unique Dujiangyan Panda Valley, located at the foot of the lush Qingcheng Mountain.
This is carefully designed for those with limited time, leading them to witness the adorable giant pandas thriving in the semi wilderness. As a habitat for giant pandas, Dujiangyan Panda Valley is rich in plant resources – trees towering into the clouds and various flowers blooming. Then, hike the quiet Qingcheng Mountain, which is honored as the birthplace of Chinese Taoism. Visit famous attractions such as Jianfu Palace, Tianshi Cave, Shangqing Palace Laojun Pavilion, and immerse yourself in the rich history and culture of Taoism. Mount Qingcheng is the filming location for the Kung Fu Panda. This one-day Dujiangyan Panda tour ensures you the essence of Dujiangyan to the maximum.

Around 8 am, your English-speaking tour guide will pick you up at your hotel in the center of Chengdu. The driver will take you to Dujiangyan Panda Valley (about 1.5 hours later). Dujiangyan Panda Valley, a branch of Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, aims to restore and maintain the original wild ecological environment of giant pandas. There are 515 species of plants in this area; 21 species of mammals, including wild animals such as muntjacs, rock squirrels, badgers, and leopard cats; 131 species of birds, as well as various amphibians, reptiles, and countless insects.
Here, you can visit the habitat of pandas and see them eating bamboo, playing, or climbing trees. You can also see red pandas and learn about their ways of dealing with danger, sleeping patterns, and more. Generally, the pandas in Dujiangyan Panda Valley will be fed at about 9:00 in the morning, when their vitality will be stronger.
After the visit, the guide will recommend a nearby restaurant for lunch according to your taste.

In the afternoon, you will be led to climb Qingcheng Mountain, the birthplace of Taoism, which was listed as a world cultural heritage in 2000. The scenic area covers an area of 200 square kilometers and is divided into a front mountain and a back mountain. Its highest peak is Laojun Pavilion, with an altitude of 1260 meters. The trees in the whole mountain are evergreen all the year round, and the peaks stand around each other like a city, so it is named Mount Qingcheng (green city).
If you have sufficient physical strength, hike to the majestic mountaintop along the winding stone steps and picturesque paths. Visit and explore cultural landscapes such as Jianfu Palace, Tianshi Cave, Laojun Pavilion, as well as natural scenery such as Shisun Peak and Zhangren Mountain along the way. If you want to save time and energy, you can also take the cable car (optional, at your own expense) to the top easily and quickly. Qingcheng Mountain is also a wildlife reserve, where Ambystoma mexicanum (endangered species) was found. Tourists have the opportunity to encounter a group of wild macaques (avoid active contact or feeding to prevent being bitten).
Your One-day Dujiangyan Panda Tour with Mt. Qingcheng from Chengdu ends here. You will be escorted back to the hotel at about 17:30.
