Day-by-day Itinerary
- Day 1: Xiamen City Sightseeing and Gulangyu Island
At 08:30, our guide and driver will greet you in your hotel lobby. In the morning we will explore the downtown area. The first destination would be South Putuo Temple. The temple was originally built in the Tang Dynasty (618-907) and got its first name āSizhou Templeā. In the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) it was abandoned. In the following Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) the temple was rebuilt and it was preserved till today. Next we will visit Hulishan Fortress. The fortress was built in late 19th century when China was threatened by foreign invaders.
South Putuo Temple We will move to visit Gulangyu Island which stands opposite Hulishan Fortress in the west. After a 20 minutes ferry, you will set foot on the island and then enjoy your relaxing time. You will visit the largest old villa on the island at Hi Heaven, where you can also enjoy ancient South music performances and traditional puppet shows.
Shuzhuang Garden Shuzhuang Garden will open up a surprising sea view in front of you as you walk amongst its deliberately designed layout with lush plants, corridors, and rock formations. An amazing collection of rare old pianos inside the Piano Museum will walk you through the rough development history of the piano.
When the One Day Xiamen City Sightseeing and Gulangyu Island Tour ends, you will be escorted back to your hotel in the Xiamen downtown area.
