China Panda Volunteer Day Tour from Chengdu

 

Start from your hotel at around 07:30 in the morning, after 1 hour driving, you’ll arrive at the Dujiangyan Panda Base, which is the only scientific research institution in China that focuses on preventing and controlling panda disease and rescuing pandas from the wild. Here you will see the fluffy black and white giant pandas sleeping, chewing bamboo, climbing trees, and wrestling with each other.

Be welcomed by a professional panda keeper who will also give you a brief introduction about pandas, and your volunteering day begins!

 

The main volunteering activities include:

• Put on your work clothes and clean the enclosures and outdoor play areas.
• With help from the panda keepers, you’ll split bamboo, wash bamboo shoots, and carry bamboo for the pandas.
• Watch the staff feed the giant pandas and learn how they care for them.
• Enjoy the lunch at the panda base.
• Watch a documentary to get further insight into pandas’ origin and how they behave.
• Try making steamed bread of corn for pandas.
• Get your Panda Volunteer Certificate.

The volunteering activity ends around 15:30. After that, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Chengdu downtown area.

Friendly Tips:

1. The panda volunteering fee is NOT included (RMB 700 P.P) in our tour package; please pay in cash when you arrive at the site.
2. The volunteering activity needs to be reserved 1 week ahead of your visit date by using your passport. Please send a copy of your passport to your travel consultant for the reservation.
