What is Legoland Shanghai Resort

Legoland Shanghai Resort is built specifically for children aged 2-12 years old and LEGO fans. The park spans approximately 318,000 square meters and is divided into eight themed lands, featuring over 75 rides and shows, as well as thousands of models constructed from more than 85 million LEGO bricks.

What makes this particular Legoland stand out is Legoland Monkie Kid Land, the world’s first LEGO land themed around China’s iconic legend of Journey to the West. It becomes a genuine draw for both hardcore LEGO collectors and families seeking a unique opportunity to combine studies with fun.

Best Time to Visit: How to Avoid the Crowds

The four seasons in Shanghai are distinct. Spring (March-May) and autumn (September–November) bring the most comfortable weather for outdoor activities, which makes them the best windows for a visit.

Chinese New Year (February 5–12, 2027), Labour Day (May 1–5), National Day (October 1–8), and the summer school holidays (July–August) are the park’s busiest times of the year. It’s better to avoid travelling during these periods. Generally, Tuesday to Thursday tend to be noticeably quieter than weekends and Mondays.

As for tickets, prices fluctuate from day to day across six pricing tiers (from off-peak weekdays up to special peak dates). The higher the listed price for a given day, the more crowded that day is expected to be, so picking one of the lower-priced days cannot just save money, but also dodge the crowds.

It’s also worth arriving early. The park typically opens between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m., and being among the first through the gates means you can knock out the headline rides before the queues build, which makes a real difference to how much you get to experience in a day.

  • Address: No. 999 Lebin Road, Fengjing Town, Jinshan District, Shanghai
  • Opening hours: 10:00 am–8:00 pm on regular days, though hours shift seasonally. It is recommended to check the official app for an accurate timetable.

Recommended Tour: 4-Day Shanghai Family Tour with Disneyland Park. We can replace Disney with Legoland according to your interests.

Legoland Shanghai Resort Ticket Prices

Tickets come in two forms: single-entry tickets and annual passes.

There are three types of single-entry tickets: adult, child (ages 2-12), and senior (60+). Single-entry tickets are subject to dynamic pricing, which changes daily.

Off-Peak days: Adult tickets run about CNY 319 (USD 47 roughly) and child tickets about CNY 255 (USD 38 roughly).

Special Peak: The price climbs to around CNY 599 (USD 88 roughly) for adults and CNY 479 (USD 70 roughly) for children.

Prices change along that scale during other times.

Senior tickets are generally priced at about the same level as child tickets (about 20% off the full price). To avoid inconvenience and rest assured, it’s worth double-checking the official prices.

Does Legoland Shanghai Have a Fast Pass or VIP Service?

Legoland Shanghai VIP experience
Legoland Shanghai VIP experience

Yes, both VIP experiences and Fast Pass service are available.

VIP experience prices range from CNY 2,988 to CNY 3,388 per person (minimum three guests per booking).

The VIP package includes skip-the-line access, a dedicated host who stays with your group during your visit, complimentary food and drink, professional photography, reserved seating at shows, and free parking.

You can book it in advance through the official app.

“Happy Fast Pass” (Le Jie Tong) Service can be bought per-ride from around CNY 58, or as a bundle covering three popular rides for CNY 688-888, which effectively cuts down on queue times for the park’s most in-demand attractions.

Legoland Shanghai Hotel

The Legoland Shanghai Hotel sits next to the park entrance, about a 3-minute walk.

Legoland Shanghai Hotel has 250 rooms decorated in five themes: LEGO City, LEGO Castle, LEGO Ninjago, LEGO Friends, and the globally exclusive Monkie Kid.

The hotel also has its own play area, a swimming pool, and activities for kids. You can check in from 4 pm and check out by 11 am. There is one big perk: staying at the official on-site hotel gives you park entry ahead of other visitors, so you can secure your spots on popular items.

Hotel Package pricing starts from around CNY 3,483 (stay + breakfast + tickets for two adults and one child).

Booking the room alone costs about CNY 1,700-3,300 per night, with prices swinging during the peak season. It’s worth reserving 1-2 months ahead if you’re traveling at a busy time.

Contact us — We can also put together a combined hotel, ticket, and airport-transfer package for you, often at a better rate than booking each piece separately — and with a lot less back-and-forth on your end.

How to Get to Legoland Shanghai Resort

Legoland Shanghai sits 60 kilometers from downtown, which is about a 1 to 1.5-hour drive, and around an hour’s ride from Shanghai Disneyland. It takes an hour’s car drive (57km) to Hongqiao International Airport.

Option 1: Official Legoland Shuttle Bus

The official shuttle buses depart from People’s Square (near Exit 3 of the Great World metro station on Line 8 and 14) at 7:30 am and return at 6:30 pm. A single trip takes about 80 minutes, and a round trip costs CNY 50 (about USD 7.5) per person.

The buses are painted in LEGO branding, making them easy to spot in the traffic. They make stops at several hotels in Songjiang along the way, then run directly to the park with no transfers.

Option 2: High-Speed Rail (fastest option for high-speed rail travelers)

If you travel to Shanghai by high-speed rail, you are in a prime position to avoid traffic jams.

It takes only 18 minutes from Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station to Jinshan North Station (12 departures daily), 19 minutes to Shanghai South Station (5 departures daily), and 9 minutes to Shanghai Songjiang Station (1 departure daily).

*Schedules shift, so check the timetables before your trip.

Once you’re at Jinshan North Station, you can get to the park by a 10-15 minute walk, hopping on the park’s loop bus ( CNY 1 per person) or taking a taxi (about CNY 25).

Option 3: Rideshare or Taxi

For a door-to-door option, a taxi or rideshare from downtown covers the 60 kilometers in 1-1.5 hours in normal traffic for CNY 200 (roughly USD 29). Just search “上海乐高乐园度假区” in a map app that connects to rideshare ordering services, pick your preferred service provider, and you’re all set.
