Tour Overview
Xian witnessed the ups and downs of plenty of dynasties in its thousands of years of history. It is an important piece of the puzzle for understanding splendid Chinese history and culture. It is a national historical and cultural city with many historical ruins, museums and cultural relics. This one day bus tour will take you back to the glorious periods while watching the caves, tools and pottery at Banpo Museum, exploring the impressive underground army buried 2,000 years ago, and enjoying dumpling dinner and Tang Dynasty Show at a nice theater. Join this tour to get to know the ancient capital with a knowledgeable and helpful English-speaking tour guide.
AM: Our tour guide and driver will pick you up from your downtown hotel at 8:00 am – 9:00 am. The tour will start with Banpo Neolithic village. This New Stone Age site, dating from approximately 5,000 to 4,000 B.C., is one of the most complete examples of a Neolithic agricultural settlement in the world. Afterward, on the way to Terracotta Warriors and Horses, you will pay a short visit to Terracotta Figures Factory where you will learn about the process of making figures and appreciate some fine artworks. You will have opportunity to buy some mini warriors as souvenirs if you are interested.
Noon: Lunch in a local restaurant.
PM: After lunch, you will visit Terracotta Warriors and Horses which is praised as “the eighth major miracle of the world”. It’s one of the top ten places of historical interest in China. It was listed as a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1987. You will have about 2.5 hours exploring the museum. You will also have a glimpse of Qin Shi Huang Mausoleum in the car.
Evening: Transfer back to downtown for Dumpling Dinner and Tang Dynasty Show. Upon arrival at the theater, you will have dumpling dinner at dining hall. After that you will move on to performance hall to appreciate the Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show. The show will end at about 21:10.
After the show, you will be escorted back to hotel.
