Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival in Xishuangbanna

   Welcome to the beautiful Xishuangbanna, renowned for its tropical landscapes and rich Dai cultural heritage. After arriving at the airport, a local private driver will pick you up with a welcome sign that reads "China Xian Tour" and escort you to the hotel in Jinghong city center for check-in.

   The remaining time is yours to explore the city at your own pace. Starlight Night Market is highly recommended, which mainly features delicious food and various handicrafts. As night falls, the market lights up with vibrant colors and fills with visitors dressed in charming local costumes.

   Optional activities: a boat tour on the Lancang River or a Dai ethnic barbecue dinner (at additional cost; we can arrange them for you).

2. Day 2: Xishuangbanna Water-splashing Festival Tour
   Discover Dai Culture at Dai Minority Park, Join the Water Splashing Festival

   Today, you will be immersed in the colorful culture of Xishuangbanna. After breakfast, meet your tour guide in the hotel lobby and then embark on your Xishuangbanna trip to Dai Minority Park. Covering an area of 336 hectares, it is composed of five well-preserved Dai natural villages and is known as the "soul of Xishuangbanna".

   The tour guide will introduce you to the customs, costumes, and architecture of the Dai people. Next is today's highlight - experiencing the Water Splashing Festival, which is an important celebration event held by the Dai ethnic group at the Water Splashing Square. Join the locals splashing water on each other to convey good wishes.

   

   Note: The Water-Splashing Festival is held twice daily at 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm for 30 minutes, you can rent beautiful Dai ethnic costumes to join in the lively moments.

   Later, transfer you to explore Manting Park, the oldest park in Xishuangbanna. Follow your guide to stroll around tropical landscapes, intricate pavilions & sculptures. Then, visit the Zongfosi Temple, the region's largest Buddhist temple, with a golden roof and beautiful carvings. After the visit, you will be escorted back to your hotel in Jinghong.

3. Day 3: Xishuangbanna Adventure to Wild Elephant Valley
   Meet Wild Elephants, Visit Jinuo Ethnic Village with Traditional Crafts and Tea Culture

   After breakfast, you will start today's adventure in Wild Elephant Valley. Covering an area of around 70 square kilometers, this is one of the most important habitats for Asian elephants in China. You will take the cable car to enjoy the panoramic view of the valley above the lush forest.

   Afterward, be led to visit the Asian Elephant Museum to gain a deeper understanding of the conservation work of Asian elephants. If you are lucky, you may catch a glimpse of wild elephants playing or bathing in the ponds. In this scenic area, you can also see other wild animals such as buffaloes, peacocks, and macaques.

   

   In the afternoon, visit Jinuo Ethnic Village. The Jino ethnic group is one of the seven unique ethnic groups with a relatively small population in Yunnan Province, with a total population of about 26025 people. The Jino people do not have a written language, and in the past, they used to count and record things by carving wood and bamboo.

   The tour guide will take you to visit their unique wooden houses, admire their beautiful ethnic costumes, learn about their tea cultivation, and taste their special tea made from ancient tea trees. You also have the opportunity to participate in traditional activities such as cloth dyeing and sacrificial ceremonies.

   After the tour, return to your hotel in Jinghong downtown.

4. Day 4: Xishuangbanna Tour to Tropical Botanical Garden, Departure
   Witness Over 13,000 Tropical Plants and Lush Rainforest Landscapes

   Before bidding farewell to Xishuangbanna, let's explore one of the largest and most diverse botanical gardens in the world - Tropical Botanical Garden. Established in 1959, this scenic area collects over 13,000 tropical plants and preserves a pristine tropical rainforest covering an area of approximately 250 square kilometers.

   Also referred to by locals as Menglun Botanical Garden, it is divided into two sections: the East Zone and the West Zone. The main attractions are in the West Zone, where you will see several smaller gardens with banyan trees, vine plants, aquatic plants, and a variety of unusual flowers and trees.

   After the visit, your 4-day Xishuangbanna tour package of Yunnan concludes. Then, your driver will escort you to the airport.
