This charming small county is famous for its seas of canola flowers. And along the way, we'll pull over at the famous Snail Fields - where terraced farmland swirls across the hillsides in the spiral patterns. Admire the Traditional Chinese Architecture in Zhu Family Garden After you are finished with your visit, drive towards Yuanyang, one of the most spectacular terraced landscapes in the world. Then in the late afternoon, visit Tiger Mouth (Laohuzui) and take pictures of the sunset over the rice terraces that cascade down. As the sun goes down, the watery fields get the colors of gold, orange, and pink, which make the reflections and the curves even more vivid and dramatic - the very best for any photographer and an unforgettable moment. After the sunset, proceed to your hotel for check-in in Yuanyang.
- Day 6: Photography at Yunnan Rice TerracesHike to a Pristine High-altitude Lake Surrounded by Untouched Himalayan Wilderness
Spend a full day immersed in the breathtaking beauty of the Yuanyang Rice Terraces, one of the most spectacular manmade landscapes in China. Begin before dawn at Duoyishu, one of the region’s most celebrated sunrise viewpoints. As the sky brightens, the terraced paddies transform into shimmering mirrors, reflecting soft pastel hues and mist drifting through the valleys—an unforgettable moment for any photographer.
After sunrise, visit a lively local market where Hani and other ethnic minority villagers sell fresh vegetables, fruit, handmade goods, and daily necessities. Their traditional attire, colorful embroidery, and natural interactions add excellent opportunities for portrait and documentary-style photography.
