Tour Overview
Zhujiajiao water town is known as “the most famous town in Shanghai”. Seven Treasure Town, located in the southwest of Shanghai, is a historic town with both the natural scenery of the Jiangnan water town and a long cultural connotation. Enjoy the relaxing time in Zhujiajiao Water Town and Seven Treasure Town in one day. This private tour will take you to explore the most classic and most interesting things in the two destinations. You will find a world totally different from metropolis of Shanghai.
AM: In the morning around 8:30 am, your will be met by our local tour guide at your hotel lobby. Then drive to Zhujiajiao Ancient Town for nearly 1 hour.
Zhujiajiao is a highlight attraction in Shanghai, a water town with the history that can be traced back to the Three Kingdoms Period when primitive local village formed. The appearance of the town we see today was left from the Ming Dynasty. Nowadays the ancient town is best known for its bridges, old streets, and gardens built during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The highlight things to see in the ancient town are: Fangsheng Bridge, Baoguo Temple, Town God’s Temple, and Zhuxi Garden. Here you can also optionally take a boat riding in the river to have a special view of this old water town which will impress you a lot.
Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.
PM: After lunch, we will head to Seven Treasure Town which locates at the suburb of Shanghai and shows the typical feature of southern Chinese ancient town. Built in Ming and Qing dynasties, this old town had been a local famous market place for trade of some daily goods like cloth, yarn, food material and vegetables. The town actually had rich commercial history but was also pervaded with cultural atmosphere in old times as there were many famous scholars in that time then. Today visitors can still feel the original taste of the old town and enjoy many exquisite crafts in local.
After fully enjoying yourself, we will drive back to your Shanghai hotel.
