4 Days Zhangjiajie Exploration Tour

Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Zhangjiajie Arrival (No meal)

   Upon your arrival, the local driver will meet you by holding the welcome board and board the car. Then you will be escorted to hotel.

2. Day 2: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park
   Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, Glass Bridge, Huangshi Fort, Golden Whip Brook (No meal)

   At about 08:00 meet your guide and driver in hotel. Today we will start the adventure with Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon to try the longest and highest Glass Bridge in the world with a length of 430 meters. You can have a panoramic view of Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon walking on the transparent glass floor. You may be scared to step on the bridge at first, but once you take the first step, you will enjoy the magnificent view of flying waterfalls, lush forests, running streams.

   After the Grand Canyon, we will have a lunch and then explore the fantastic Huangshi Fort. With an area of 250mu and an altitude of 1200 meters, it is the acknowledged as the largest and most scenic sightseeing stand in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Among Chinese people there is a saying “One will not find the most essence beauty of Zhangjiajie without visit to Huangshi Fort. ” The last stop is Golden Whip Brook, one of the most beautiful sites in Zhangjiajie. The stream winds its way through the hills and valleys and got its name because of passing by the Golden Whip Rock. Just listen to the murmurs of the stream, stroll along the valley and stop to watch the fish swimming in the crystal clear water.

3. Day 3: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park
   Yuanjiajie Scenic Area (No meal)

   Please meet your guide at hotel lobby after breakfast. Today’s first stop is Tianzi Mountain. There is a saying that you will not want to see any other mountains after visiting Tianzi Mountain. One of the spectacular sights is the sea of clouds after rain if you are lucky. You will witness rugged rocks and a forest of stone peaks which looks like a group of warriors listening to orders.

   

   Next, we will go to explore Yuanjiajie, the inspiration for Hallelujah Mountain in the super famous movie Avatar. You can experience Bailong Elevator, the highest and heaviest outdoor elevator in the world. You will be amazed by the speed of the elevator, only 1 minute and 58 seconds up to Yuanjiajie. When you step out of the elevator, a magical landscape painting will unfold in front of you. The massive quartz-sandstone pillars are just towering over you or next to you.

   The last stop is Baofeng Lake, which is the only water themed scenic spot in Zhangjiajie. Its picturesque scenery even attracts TV crews to come here. You can have a pleasant cruise watching the peaks being reflected on the lake and enjoying the folk songs from local Tujia minority girls in traditional costume.

   After the whole day tour, board the private car back to hotel.

4. Day 4: Zhangjiajie Departure
   Tianmen Mountain (No meal)

   In the morning, meet your guide and driver at your hotel lobby and check out as you will take the departure flight directly after today’s tour. Please pack your belongings in advance.

   Today is all about Tianmen Mountain, famous for Tianmen Cave (which means a gate to heaven in Chinese). You will take the 7,455-meter-long cable car up to the top of Tianmen Mountain for 28 minutes, appreciating the amazing scenery and taking photos of 99-bend Road on the way.

   Then you will explore the mountain, walk on the thrilling Glass Skywalk hanging on the cliff and visit Tianmen Mountain Temple which was built in the Tang Dynasty and became the center of Buddhism activities in western Hunan. Next get to Tianmen Cave, a natural water-eroded cave with the highest elevation in the world. From ancient to modern times, numerous people from emperors to normal people come here to pray for blessings. You can conquer the 999 steps to Tianmen Cave (Heaven’s Door Cave) and enjoy the wonderful scenery from above.

   After lunch, it’s time to say goodbye to Zhangjiajie. Your guide and driver will transfer you to the airport for your flight. Our service will end here. Wish you a pleasant journey.
