Rewu Temple, an important Tibetan Buddhist temple in Daocheng County, was built in the early Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). It is located on a mountainside of 4,230 meters above sea level. āRewuāĀ in Tibetan language means āwhere the jar breaks is the place for the construction of templeā.
The existing Rewu Temple can be divided into upper Rewu Temple and the lower Rewu Temple, which belong to different sects of White religion and Hua religion. It is rare to see the coexistence of the two major sects and the harmonious relations between monks for hundreds of years in Tibetan Buddhist temples.

Tips for Visiting Rewu Temple
Respect local customs: Dress appropriately, do not wear shorts and vests. Take off your hat when entering the Rewu Temple, and do not make loud noises.
Note for photography: You may need to pay a fee to take photos inside theĀ RewuĀ Temple, or you may not be allowed to take photos. Please ask in advance.
Etiquette for worship: You can follow the locals to turn the prayer wheel and kowtow, but you must respect the religious habits of the believers and do not disturb their prayers.
Prevention of altitude sickness: Daocheng County is at a high altitude and may cause altitude sickness. You can arrive in Chengdu cityĀ and other low-altitude areas in advance to adapt for a day or two. Also, pay attention to drinking more water, eating more vegetables and fruits, and taking medicine to prevent altitude sickness if necessary.

By Airplane: You can first fly to Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, then take a bus or rent a car to Daocheng County.
By Bus: There are long-distance buses from Chengdu Xinnanmen Bus Station or Kangding Bus Station to Daocheng County.
By Self-driving: If you choose to travel to Daocheng Yading in Sichuan with a road trip, you can drive along G318 National Highway to Daocheng County.
