Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival in Kunming

   Upon arrival in Kunming, the local guide and driver will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. You can spend the rest of the day resting at the hotel or exploring the city on your own.

   Recommended activities for your free time: Consider visiting the bustling Flower and Bird Market, which offers a wide variety of flowers, birds, fishes and handicrafts. Or take a leisurely stroll along Nanping Street to explore the diverse stores, restaurants and bars for a vibrant local experience.

2. Day 2: Kunming Jiaozi Snow Mountain Tour
   Admire Magnificent Views of Snow Mountains

   After breakfast, start today’s Kunming adventure tour. Drive from Kunming to Jiaozi Snow Mountain, the highest peak in central Yunnan. The sightseeing bus will take you from Sifangjing to Xiapingzi, where you will take a cable car to Daheiqing. Standing at the viewing platform, admire the magnificent snow mountains and vast alpine meadows. Afterwards, stroll through the enchanting Shenxianba and enjoy the spectacular mountain scenery and colorful azalea flowers. Then proceed to Foguangya for a fantastic view of the sunlight shining on the cliffs.

   

   After lunch, proceed to Dongchuan Red Land, famous for its picturesque hills. In the evening, stay at a local guesthouse and enjoy the peaceful nightlife.

3. Day 3: Kunming Dongchuan Red Land Tour
   Marvel at the Stunning Red Land Scenery

   Today, start to explore the charms of Dongchuan Red Land. It forms a spectacular view together with blue sky, white clouds and variable light. Wake up early to capture the sunrise at Damakan. Stand on a viewing platform to overlook the entire red lands. Wander through the Jinxiu Garden and enjoy the colorful picture formed by the rolling terraces.

   Marvel at the beauty of the Qicai Slope, where the land shows seven different colors. Standing on the viewpoint, you can admire the slopes become more vivid with the sunlight. Visit Yuepuao, a pond reflecting the beautiful scenery around it. Then have lunch at a local restaurant to taste Yunnan cuisine such as buckwheat noodles, potato cakes and corn wine.

   

   Later come to Shuipingzi, where magnificent rice terraces are spreading out in the mountains. With the change of seasons, the terraces will show different colors. Obverse the thousand-year-old Ancient Tree, with the huge crown and green leaves. Finally watch the stunning sunset at Luoxiagou Valley. From the viewing trestle, you can overlook the entire valley and enjoy the scene of the sunlight coloring the entire valley in gold.

   After the visit, return to the guesthouse for a rest.

4. Day 4: Kunming Stone Forest Tour
   Explore Strange Stones in Different Forms

   After breakfast, drive to Stone Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring karst formations. Wander along paths and bridges to observe rocks in various shapes and sizes. Explore the Greater Stone Forest Scenic Area to witness dense stone peaks like Sword Peak Pond, Lotus Peak, and Elephant Trunk Hill. Visit the Lesser Stone Forest, and admire the scenic views of stone pillars, ponds and lawns.

   

   After that, drive back to Kunming. In the evening you can explore Kunming on your own. Experience the lively Kunming nightlife at the local market or take a stroll in the park.

5. Day 5: Kunming Discovery Tour, Kunming Departure
   Enjoy the Charming Cityscape of Kunming

   The first stop of today’s Kunming exploration tour is Western Hills. Take a cable car to the top of the hills to admire the panoramic views of Dianchi Lake. And explore the Dragon Gate to see the ancient caves, temples and exquisite stone sculptures.

   Next move to Yunnan Nationalities Museum. There are more than 40,000 artifacts that show the customs, festivals and lifestyles of Yunnan’s ethnic groups. Also visit the diverse themed exhibitions and explore the traditional houses, production tools and handicrafts of ethnic minorities.

   

   Then visit the Yuantong Temple, the largest Buddhist temple in Kunming. The temple is home to many well-preserved Buddhist architectures. There are also a large number of Buddhist relics, including scriptures, statues and cliff inscriptions. Stroll through majestic temples to learn about rich Buddhist history and culture.

   After that, explore the Kunming Green Lake Park to enjoy the stunning cityscape. Stand at the pavilions to admire the clear lake and old architecture with glazed tiles. Immerse in the vivid spring scenery of colorful flowers and lush willows.
