Day-by-day Itinerary
- Day 1: Dali Old Town - Xizhou Town - Zhoucheng Village - Erhai Lake
On the morning of your tour, your private guide will meet you at the lobby of your Dali Old Town hotel. We will begin our trip via bicycle to Xizhou TownĀ - roughly a 2-hour round-trip journey of about 20 kilometers. We'll stop on the route several times at safe spots.
Xizhou Town sits to the north of Dali Old Town between Erhai Lake to the east and Cangshan Mountain to the west. There are many traditional Bai dwellings in Xizhou Town. While you stroll around the ancient town, you might notice the elders wearing traditional Bai clothing and passing through many little shops selling local goods. We have planned something for you - the Three-Course Tea Ceremony. Originally a ritual performed by Bai elders to welcome younger generations during important occasions, it has evolved into a sophisticated hospitality tradition in Dali.
The Bai ethnic architecture in Xizhou Ancient Town After going through this extraordinary experience, keep on pedaling north for another 40 minutes (6 kilometers) to reach Zhoucheng Village. The exquisite tie-dyeing skill of the village is responsible for the vibrant blue fabric pieces that are blowing in the wind in its old courtyards. A guide will lead you to a specialized workshopĀ where you will have a choice of either making your own tie-dyed item or purchasing unique Bai-style gifts for your family and friends.
Experience Yunnan Bai Tie dye We bike right after lunch to Erhai Lake, Yunnan's second-largest lake and beside it, the Cangshan Mountains make another natural boundary to the west while to the east the Yuāan Hill (ēę”å±±) surrounds the lake. The Three Pagodas, which are Dali's unmistakable symbol, can be seen from quite a distance. If your trip coincides with the winter season, you might be lucky enough to catch an amazing view of the seagulls skating on the lake. That is our one day Dali cycling tour. The driver will escort you back to your hotel. We hope you enjoyed your day with us.
