Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Changsha Arrival

   Please make your own way to Changsha Huanghua International Airport. Upon arrival, a local private driver will pick you up from the exit gate. And then you will be transferred to your hotel. Free and easy time for you to explore the city.

   Changsha's snacks are famous throughout the country, and you can experience Changsha nightlife on your own.

2. Day 2: Changsha to Fenghuang Tour by High-speed Train
   Appreciate Hunan's Cultural Relics and Iconic Landscape

   After breakfast, meet your tour guide, who will take you to the Hunan Museum. The largest historical and artistic museum in Hunan Province has a total area of 112469 square meters. There are over 540000 cultural relics (sets). The most distinctive are the relics unearthed from the Mawangdui Han Tomb, bronze wares from the Shang and Zhou Dynasties, and ceramics and calligraphy from various dynasties. Our knowledgeable guide will explain the stories behind them.

   

   Go to visit Orange Island, located in the heart of the Xiangjiang River in the city center. Surrounded by water on all sides, it is 5 kilometers long, with a narrow long-dragon shape. On the island are the thousands of species of flowers, plants, and rare animals such as cranes, herons, gulls, and foxes. Besides, you can see a huge statue of Chairman Mao, a hundred meter high fountain, and a Southeast Asian style beach.

   Last, be driven to take the high-speed train to Fenghuang Ancient Town. It was selected as one of the top ten cultural heritages in Hunan in 2004. After check-in, you can enjoy the beautiful night view of the ancient city.

3. Day 3: Fenghuang to Mount Fanjing Tour
   Learn about Buddhist History, Marvel at Red Cloud Golden Summit

   Fanjingshan Mountain with an altitude of 2,572 meters is famous for its magnificent scenery, long Buddhist history, and rich resource of plants and animals. It was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986.

   The main attractions of Mount Fanjingshan are concentrated on its peaks. After getting the ticket, you will be taken on a shuttle bus to the cable car station. Take the cable car and have a bird's-eye view of Fanjingshan.

   Get off, then hike for about 40 minutes to reach Mushroom Stone, an incredible masterpiece of nature. As its name suggests, the stone is shaped like a mushroom. The huge quadrate head is supported on a slender column-like body. You will learn that the mushroom stone has been standing there firmly for a billion years.

   

   Continue walking towards Golden Summit. Looking up at the mountain top, you will find that the path on the steep cliff narrower and narrower. This is a real adventure! Upon reaching the summit, the roaring sea of clouds is bathed in the golden sunlight. This is a good chance for photograph.

   Cheng'en Temple is located in Pudu Square and was first built in the Ming Dynasty. It helps Fanjingshan Mountain gain the title of one of the "Five Great Buddhist Temples".

   If you have watched videos related to Mount Fanjingshan, you must have seen the shots of Red Cloud Golden Summit. The giant stone column is deeply in ground, but divided into two parts on the top. There is a stone bridge connecting them.

   

   After the sightseeing, take the cable car and bus down the mountain. Then you will be driven for almost 2 hours to Fenghuang Town for an overnight stay.

4. Day 4: Fenghuang to Zhangjiajie Tour by High-speed Train
   Challenge the World's Longest Glass Bridge

   Fenghuang Ancient Town is full of historical charm and ethnic customs, with the Tuojiang River flowing through. In the morning, take a boat ride on the Tuojiang River. Along both sides of the river, there are intricately arranged Diaojiao buildings (traditional dwellings of ethnic minorities such as the Miao, Buyi, Dong, and Tujia). These houses hang in the air and are supported by wooden pillars.

   Say goodbye to Fenghuang. Take a high-speed train to Zhangjiajie city. After lunch, go to visit Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. Here the Glass Bridge makes people's hearts beat faster. It is the world's longest and highest fully transparent bridge, spanning over the canyon. Challenge your courage! Also, a variety of amusement projects are provided at additional fee, such as bungee jumping, zip lines, etc.

5. Day 5: Yuanjiajie and Tianzi Mountain Tour
   See the Amazing Scenery of "Hallelujah Mountains"

   Our Zhangjiajie tour continues today at Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Here are over 3,000 unique peaks, featuring life-like shapes resembling beasts or objects. You will first be led on a sightseeing train through the Ten-Mile Gallery. Enjoy the lush valleys and karst landforms along the way.

   Next, be transferred to visit Yuanjiajie Scenic Area. Covering an area of about 1,200 hectares, it has an average elevation of 1,074 meters (5590 feet). Experience the exciting Bailong Elevator, the world’s highest outdoor elevator, and you will instantly ascend the peak only in 66 seconds. Through the transparent elevator, the amazing scenery of "Hallelujah Mountains" can be seen clearly. Step out then explore the filming location of the movie Avatar.

   

   After that, we take a shuttle bus to Tianzi Mountain, a typical quartz-sandstone landscape characterized by dense peaks. Thanks to its large open platform, we can definitely experience the most spectacular sandstone peak forest. Then we will take the cable car down and return back to the hotel for a good rest.

6. Day 6: Tianmen Mountain Tour, Zhangjiajie Departure
   Walk the 999 Steps to the Heaven's Gate

   In the morning, check out and then pay a visit to Junsheng Sandstone Painting Gallery to see unique painting art. Then transfer to Tianmen Mountain. We'll take a 28-minute cable car ride to the top of the mountain. Upon arrival, your guide will take you for a walk along a glass-bottomed walkway that edges the cliff, followed by a walk up the mountain trail for spectacular views.

   Take the escalator to reach Heaven's Gate, a naturally formed arch at 5,000 feet above sea level. Then we will walk down the 999 steps of the "stairway to heaven" to take a fast cableway to descend the mountain.

   You will have free time to have dinner before we head to the airport. Your 6-day Changsha Fenghuang Fanjingshan Zhangjiajie tour ends here. Wish you a pleasant journey home!
