Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Changsha Arrival

   Please make your own way to Changsha Huanghua International Airport. Upon arrival, your driver will pick you up from the exit gate. And then you will be transferred to your hotel.

   Free and easy time for you to explore the city.

2. Day 2: Changsha - Fenghuang by High-speed Train
   Hunan Provincial Museum, Orange Island, Fenghuang Ancient Town

   After breakfast, meet with our guide and driver. Go to visit the Hunan Provincial Museum, which houses a collection of artifacts from Hunan's history and culture. You'll learn about the province's rich traditions and get a glimpse into the lives of its people throughout the centuries.

   

   Then move on to Orange Island - a long and narrow island in the Xiang Jiang River. Take a walk through the beautiful park and enjoy the stunning views of the river and the city skyline. During major festivals, there are fireworks displays, giving visitors a visual feast.

   In the later afternoon, take a high-speed train to Fenghuang Ancient Town, a 300-year-old town built in the Qing Dynasty and still being kept in its original appearance. Enjoy the night view of Fenghuang.

3. Day 3: Fenghuang - Mount Fanjing
   Mount Fanjing, Golden Summit

   Today, you will explore the natural beauty of Mount Fanjing, listed as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage in 2018. You'll take a cable car to the top of the mountain and visit the famous Mushroom Stone, a unique rock formation that resembles a mushroom. From there, you'll hike for about 30 minutes to the Golden Summit, which offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Finally, you'll walk up to the peak of the mountain to take in the stunning panoramic views.

   

   We will also walk a little down to admire the natural scenery along the way to the sacred Buddhist attractions.

   At the end of the tour, transfer you back to Fenghuang for the night.

4. Day 4: Fenghuang - Zhangjiajie by High-speed Train
   Boat Ride, Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon

   In the morning you will take a boat ride on the Tuo River. Then take a high-speed train to Zhangjiajie city in the noon time. After lunch, pay a visit to Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. Firstly, we will walk across the Glass Bridge, measuring 300 meters above the ground, the highest and longest glass bridge in the world.

   

   You can give your legs a rest and choose to take a 600-meter-long slide to the bottom of the canyon (Pay an extra RMB80 on your own). Or you can enjoy hiking along the walking path down to the bottom of the canyon. Upon your descent, hike through the canyon and admire the surrounding dense forests, mysterious caves, and crystal-clear streams.

   At night, you can either stroll around Xi'bu Cultural Street or enjoy a local folk show at your own expense. (Next to the hotel is a theater, where there will be wonderful performances, featuring songs, dances, and acrobatics performed by members of the Tujia and Miao ethnic minorities wearing their traditional costumes. Highly recommended)

5. Day 5: Yuanjiajie - Tianzi Mountain
   Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Bailong Elevator, Tianzi Mountain

   After breakfast, you will head to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park for today's adventure. Take the Bailong Elevator, made of clear glass, and explore the beautiful scenery before riding it up to the top of Yuanjiajie Mountain. Visit Yuanjiajie Peak and hike for 2 hours into the Pillar of Southern Sky, the inspiration for the Hallelujah Mountains in the movie Avatar.

   

   After that, we take a shuttle bus to Tianzi Mountain, a typical quartz-sandstone landscape characterized by dense peaks. Thanks to its large open platform, we can definitely experience the most spectacular sandstone peak forest. Then we will take the cable car down and return back to the hotel for a good rest.

6. Day 6: Tianmen Mountain - Zhangjiajie Departure
   Junsheng Sandstone Painting Gallery, Tianmen Mountain

   In the morning, check out and then pay a visit to Junsheng Sandstone Painting Gallery to see unique painting art. Then transfer to Tianmen Mountain. We'll take a 28-minute cable car ride to the top of the mountain. Upon arrival, your guide will take you for a walk along a glass-bottomed walkway that edges the cliff, followed by a walk up the mountain trail for spectacular views.

   

   You will take the escalator to reach Heaven's Gate, a naturally formed arch at 5,000 feet above sea level. Then we will walk down the 999 steps of the "stairway to heaven" to take a fast cableway to descend the mountain.

   

   You will have free time to have dinner before we head to the airport. Your 6-day Changsha Fenghuang Fanjingshan Zhangjiajie tour ends here. Wish you a pleasant journey home!
