Welcome to our 3-day Chengdu family tour with Panda volunteering & cooking class! Upon your arrival at Chengdu airport orĀ train station, our local English-speaking guide will pick you up from the exit gate by holding a welcome board āChina Xian Tourā.
Your Chengdu exploration begins with the fantasticĀ Sanxingdui Museum, where you will have an eye-opening experience. The museum houses thousands of cultural treasures excavated in Sanxingdui archeological site including bronze, jade articles, gold, pottery and bone objects. The mystical bronze masks definitely cannot be missed. You will be deeply impressed by the unique exhibits, and you have never seen some of them before in China.
Exhibits in Sanxingdui Museum Then, follow your guide to the vibrant Renmin ParkĀ which is a perfect place to do people watching. Here you can enjoy a cup of tea in a nice tea houseĀ and watch local people while away the time with various activities such as playing cards, doing tai chi, playing mahjong, dancing, and napping.
After that, visitĀ Jinli Street. It's a busy shopping area in Chengdu. The buildings here look old - they were built in the Qing Dynasty styleĀ (1644-1911). Walking here feels like going back in time. You can shop and try some tastyĀ andĀ spicy food that you have never seen before.
Last, transfer to Chengdu downtown hotel.

Jinli Pedestrian Street - Day 2: Panda Volunteer in Dujiangyan Panda BaseWatch Pandas, Admire Temple Art, Sip Tea In Parks, Savor Street Snacks
Today would be the highlight of your Chengdu tour since you will be closely visit the cute pandas by volunteering in Dujiangyan Panda Center.
Leave your hotel at 7:30 am. After a 1-hour drive, you'll reach Dujiangyan Panda Base.Ā This is China's only research center for panda health and wild panda rescue. YouĀ canĀ see pandas sleeping, eating bamboo, climbing trees, and playing together.
Be greeted by a professional panda keeper who also will give you brief introduction about pandas, your volunteering day begins!
The main volunteering activities including:
- Wear your work clothes. Clean the panda houses and outdoor areas.
- With the keepers, splitĀ bamboo, wash bamboo shoots, and carry bamboo for pandas.
- Watch the staff feed the pandas and learn how they take care of them.
- Eat lunch at the panda base.
- Watch a film about where pandas come from and how they live.
- Make corn bread for pandas.
- Get your Panda Volunteer Certificate.
After all activities, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Chengdu downtown area.

The volunteering activity needs to be reserved 1 week ahead of your visit date by using your passport. Please send a copy of your passport to your travel consultant for the reservation.

Panda Volunteer Program at Dujiangyan Giant Panda Base - Day 3: Cooking Class in Chengdu, DepartureExplore Ancient Cookware, Learn to Make Sichuan Dishes
Today, youāll go to check out a unique museum themed with cuisine culture, Sichuan Cuisine Museum, and have a fantastic experience there. You will have chance to see plenty of cooking utensils from the past dynasties and sample some local delicacies. The highlight of this interesting museum tour will be learning to cook a couple of Sichuan dishes such as Mapo TofuĀ andĀ Kung Pao ChickenĀ under the instructions of local chefs. After finishing cooking, you will sit down and enjoy your own cooking.

After that, transfer to Chengdu airport / train station for your departure.
