Hainan’s 30-Day Visa-Free Entry Policy

Foreign nationals from 59 eligible countries can enter and stay within Hainan Province for a maximum of 30 days without a visa for purposes including tourism, business, family and friend visits, medical treatment, conferences, etc. You may enter and exit through any of the open ports in Hainan. Note that you are not qualified for this policy if your purpose of visit involves working or studying.

Previously, this policy was only applicable to tour groups. Now, it has been expanded to individual travel and allows more purpose of entry.

Hainan 144-hour Visa-free Policy for Tour Groups from Hong Kong and Macau

To attract more international tourists, Hainan also implemented a 144-hour visa-free policy for foreign tour groups from Hong Kong and Macao from July 30, 2024. his policy is applicable for people who travel to Hainan as part of a tourist group organized by a travel agency that is legally registered in Hong Kong or Macao SAR. Under this policy, visitors can enter or exit Hainan through any of its open ports.

This 144-hour visa-free policy in Hainan applies to citizens from 183 countries with diplomatic relations with China.

  • Make sure you have all the required documents ready, including your passport, return ticket, and booking confirmations.
