Day-by-day Itinerary
- Day 1: XianTerracotta Warriors and Horses, Cave House, Hanyangling Museum (Lunch)
AM: Our tour guide and driver will pick you up from your downtown hotel at 08:30 am. Today’s first stop is the traditional dwelling in northwest region of China: Cave Houses. Till 1970s cave house was the most common dwelling of local people. Digging a cave out of a hillside with further consolidation and decoration will make a comfortable house which is cool in summer and warm in winter. Next, we will head to the famous Terracotta Warriors and Horses. Known as “the Eighth Wonder of the World” and one of the most significant archaeological discoveries in the 20th century, the museum shows a surprisingly high level in sculpture. The splendid battle formation will leave you an impressive memory.
Noon: Lunch in a lcoal restaurant.
PM: In the afternoon, we will visit Hanyangling Museum. It is shared by Jingdi, the fourth emperor of the Western Han Dynasty, and his empress, but they have their own graves. You will admire the terracotta figurines carved as servants, riders, and domestic animals, and see the excavation pits which contain hordes of half-hidden statues and crockery through the glass floors.
After one day’s wonderful trip, your guide and driver will escort you back to your hotel.

Hanyangling Mausoleum - Day 2: XianCity Wall, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Bell Tower & Drum Tower Square, Muslim Quarter (Lunch)
AM: The tour guide and driver will meet you at your hotel lobby in the morning and escort you to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda which was originally built to hold the sutras and Buddha statues that monk Xuanzang brought back to China from India. Now there is a big garden around the pagoda where people can have a nice walk.
Noon: Lunch in a local restaurant.
PM: In the afternoon, we will visit the Ancient City Wall, one of the largest and most completely preserved ancient military defense systems in the world. It provides invaluable and substantial materials for the study of the history, military science, and architecture of the Ming Dynasty. You can optionally ride a bike on the top of the City Wall to see the city from a unique angle. Next, take a walk on the Bell Tower & Drum Tower Square to admire the two ancient towers from a distance. Then head to Muslim Quarter, the best known and colorful food street in Xian. If you like, our guide will lead you to some more alleyways in Muslim Quarter to see real life of Muslim people here.
After the trip, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel.
