- Day 1: Xiamen Arrival
Welcome to Xiamen, a beautiful coastal city in southeastern China. Your guide and driver will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. You can relax and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.
- Day 2: Xiamen City TourGulangyu Island, South Putuo Temple, Hulishan Fortress
Today, you will explore the highlights of Xiamen. First, a ferry ride will take you to Gulangyu Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is famous for its colonial architecture, charming streets, and musical culture.
Then, take a ferry back to Xiamen and visit South Putuo Temple, a Buddhist temple with a history of over 1,000 years. You will also see Hulishan Fortress, a well-preserved coastal fort that was built in the late Qing Dynasty.
- Day 3: Hakka Culture Experience in Taxia VillageTaxia Village
After breakfast, drive to Taxia Village, a picturesque Hakka village that is surrounded by mountains and streams. You will experience the local Hakka culture and learn about their unique lifestyle and customs. The Zhang Family Ancestral Hall is a highlight which is a magnificent building showcasing the Hakka architecture and art.
- Day 4: Earthen Buildings in Yongding CountyChuxi Tulou Cluster, Hongkeng Tulou Cluster
Today, you will visit some of the most impressive earthen buildings in Yongding County, which are also UNESCO World Heritage Sites. These are circular or rectangular structures that were built by the Hakka people as their homes and fortresses.
You will visit the Chuxi Tulou Cluster, which consists of five large circular buildings and ten smaller ones. And Hongkeng Tulou Cluster, which has more than 40 earthen buildings of different shapes and sizes.
- Day 5: Ningde: Photography Opportunities at SunsetXiaohao Beach
In the morning, catch the train to Ningde, a city that is famous for its stunning mudflat scenery. Your guide and driver will meet you at the train station and take you to your hotel.
In the afternoon, you will have a chance to capture the beautiful sunset over the mudflat at Xiaohao Beach.
- Day 6: Great Photography Opportunities in XiapuBeiqi Village, Dongbi
Xiapu is a paradise for photographers, as it offers a variety of scenes and subjects to shoot. Start your day by shooting the sunrise at Beiqi, where you can see the fishermen working on their bamboo rafts and nets. Then, in Dongbi, you will see the mudflat farming and the sunset scenery. It’s also possible to interact with the local villagers and learn about their culture and history.
- Day 7: Photo Mudflat, Sunrise and SunsetWeijiang, Mantoushan
Today, you will continue your photography adventure in Xiapu. You will visit Weijiang, where you can see the spectacular view of the mudflat and the sea. And also visit Mantoushan, which is also known as Steamed Bun Mountain, because of its shape. There will be many great opportunities to capture the mudflat and the sunset from different angles and perspectives. After that, get back to your hotel.
- Day 8: Photo Sunrise, Local Life and Bamboo Canes in the SeaHuazhu Village, Yangjiaxi
You will get up early and head to Huazhu Village, where you can shoot the sunrise over the sea and the bamboo canes. You will also see the local life and activities of the villagers, such as fishing, drying seaweed, and making salt. In the afternoon, visit Yangjiaxi, where you can see more bamboo canes in the sea and the reflections of the clouds and mountains.
- Day 9: Photography in Yantian, DepartureYantian
This morning, take a visit to Yantian, where you can photograph the life of the people who live on boats. You will see how they fish, cook, and wash on their floating homes, and see the contrast between the modern city and the traditional fishing village.
