Day-by-day Itinerary

  1. Arriving in Shanghai, the tour guide will hold a welcome sign with your name at the airport and transfer to your hotel. Free for the rest of the day.

  2. AM: Today’s first stop will be Shanghai Museum at People’s Square. Established in 1952, the Shanghai Museum has a collection of more than 120,00 rare cultural pieces from the Old Stone Age to modern times. Finish the exploration of history, stroll on People Square to have a glimpse of the daily life of the locals. The square now is most famous for its match-making corner where parents try to seek partners for their children. Afterwards you will be escorted to  Shanghai World Financial Center, the second tallest skyscraper in mainland China.

    Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.

    PM: Then you will take a walk in Nanjing Road to see the earliest and most bustling business street in Shanghai. The one day exciting trip will be ended by visiting to the Bund, one of the best place to see contrast of old Shanghai and modern Shanghai. Drive back to your hotel after the tour.

  3. AM: After hotel pickup we will head to the hundred-year-old Jade Buddha Temple. The temple was built to keep two jade Buddha statues which had been brought from Burma by a monk named Huigen. After that we will continue to visit Yuyuan Garden, a famous classical garden which was originally built for Pan’s parents as a place for them to enjoy a tranquil and happy time in their old age. Nearby is Yuyuan Market, a bustling marketplace set in an old Chinese neighborhood with traditional architecture and shops selling everything from local snacks to various souvenirs.

    PM: In the afternoon you will take a walk on Shanghai Old Street, with a total length of 825 meters, the architectural style and business layout show the historical and cultural evolution of old Shanghai from the Ming and Qing dynasties to the fusion of western culture. Next, come to the Former French Concession, the largest and most prosperous concession among all the four French concessions in old China. From 1849 to 1943, this area was ruled by France for almost a century. Here your tour guide will reveal a history of humiliation and you will see many old beautiful European style buildings which look very charming hidden in the shade of French parasol trees. At last enjoy leisure time at “Xintiandi” – something like Lan Kwai Fong in Hong Kong and Clarke Quay in Singapore. Xintiandi is a fashionable pedestrian street composed of Shikumen and modern architecture style. At last transfer back to hotel.

  4. AM: Meet your guide in hotel and then drive to Suzhou, a city which is renowned for its elegant gardens, stone bridges, its network of rivers and canals. Visit one of the most famous gardens built in the Ming Dynasty in Suzhou, the Net Master Garden. Then climb Ancient City Wall, one of the few existed city walls built in feudal dynasties in China.

    Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.

    PM: After lunch, drive to the ancient water town – Zhouzhuang, one of the most famous water towns in China. It is not only noted for its breathtaking natural beauty but also its profound cultural background, the well preserved ancient residential houses and the strong local colored traditions and customs. A 15-20 minutes’ cruise by gondoda along the canal will be included. After the tour, transfer back to hotel by 18:00.
