Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Zhangjiajie Arrival

   Upon your arrival, the local driver will meet you by holding the welcome board and board the car. Then you will be escorted to hotel.

   Accommodation: Overnight in Zhangjiajie

2. Day 2: Zhangjiajie
   Huangshi Fort, Golden Whip Brook, Baofeng Lake (Breakfast )

   At 08:00, our guide and driver will meet you in your hotel and start today’s tour with Zhangjiaye National Forest Park. The first stop would be Huangshi Fort. With an area of 250mu and an altitude of 1200 meters, it is the acknowledged as the largest and most scenic sightseeing stand in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Among Chinese people there is a saying “One will not find the most essence beauty of Zhangjiajie without visit to Huangshi Fort. ”

   The next stop is Golden Whip Brook, one of the most beautiful sites in Zhangjiajie. The stream winds its way through the hills and valleys and got its name because of passing by the Golden Whip Rock. Just listen to the murmurs of the stream, stroll along the valley and stop to watch the fish swimming in the crystal clear water.

   Today’s visit will ends with visit to Baofeng Lake which is the only water themed scenic spot in Zhangjiajie. Its picturesque scenery even attracts TV crews to come here. You can have a pleasant cruise watching the peaks being reflected on the lake and enjoying the folk songs from local Tujia minority girls in traditional costume.

   After boating on the lake, we will drive back to hotel in Zhangjiajie city area.

3. Day 3: Zhangjiajie
   Tianzi Mountain, Yuanjiajie Scenic Area, Bailong Elevator, Ten Miles Gallery (Breakfast)

   Please meet your guide at hotel lobby after breakfast. Today’s first stop is Tianzi Mountain. There is a saying that you will not want to see any other mountains after visiting Tianzi Mountain. One of the spectacular sights is the sea of clouds after rain if you are lucky. You will witness rugged rocks and a forest of stone peaks which looks like a group of warriors listening to orders.

   

   Next, we will go to explore Yuanjiajie, the inspiration for Hallelujah Mountain in the super famous movie Avatar. You can experience Bailong Elevator, the highest and heaviest outdoor elevator in the world. You will be amazed by the speed of the elevator, only 1 minute and 58 seconds up to Yuanjiajie. When you step out of the elevator, a magical landscape painting will unfold in front of you. The massive quartz-sandstone pillars are just towering over you or next to you.

   At last you will hike through the Ten Miles Gallery to enjoy the fresh and charming natural scenery. It would be the great chance to take some pictures.

4. Day 4: Zhangjiajie – Fenghuang Old Town by Car
   Fenghuang Old Town (Breakfast)

   In the morning check out your hotel in Zhangjiajie and drive for about 4 hours to Fenghuang Old Town. The major inhabitant in the town are Miao minority nationality people. The town was named so because it’s layout takes the shape of a huge phoenix (Phoenix is Fenghuang in Chinese). Stilted building along rivers and the Miao ethnic culture are the most highlight things in the town. Wander in the old town, you will meet Former Residence of Shen Congwen, Tower of East, Yang Ancestral Memorial, Ancient Town Museum, traditional stilt house, Tuojiang River.

5. Day 5: Zhangjiajie Departure
   Fenghuang Old Town (Breakfast)

   In the morning enjoy your free time to explore the old town. Then you will board the car and drive to Zhangjiajie airport or train station for departure.
