Other Cities to Jianshui by Train

  • From Beijing: Take the high-speed train to Kunming, then from Kunming, take the high-speed or regular train to Jianshui. The train ride from Beijing to Kunming is about 10-14h, about 2 hours from Kunming to Jianshui. The total travel time is about 12-16h.
  • From Shanghai: Board the high-speed train from Shanghai to Kunming, change trains to The travel time is about 9-12 hours from Shanghai to Kunming, and total time is about 11-14 hours adding the train ride from Kunming to Jianshui.

Get Around Jianshui by Walking

Most of the main sights in Jianshui Ancient TownĀ are close together. A suggested routeĀ is to start from the Confucius Temple, walk towards the south along the old street, and walk to the Chaoyang Tower to watch the sunset. Take a walk and enjoy the historic buildings, wander into some of the small shops, and make a stop at a traditional teahouse for a chat.

  • Confucius Temple & Zhu Family Garden: They are both in Jianshui Ancient Town. Walking or biking is your best bet here.
