Though the Kashgar Sunday MarketĀ is not a traditional festival, it is also worth visiting. It opens at 10:00 every Sunday. To feel its charm and lively atmosphere, 11:00 – 13:00 areĀ the peak hours and the best time of day.

Kashgar Weather in Spring (March – May)Ā – Unstable
Spring (March – May) is the most unstable season in Kashgar. The temperature rises very quickly. In March, the daily average temperature is about 6Ā – 19Ā ā, while in May, it rises to 25 ā easily. The temperature difference between months can reach over 15 ā. Due to the extremelyĀ little precipitation, the air is very dry. Influenced by the Taklimakan Desert, dust and sand weatherĀ occursĀ frequently with strong winds.
It is the off-peak season, so the price for hotel and flight is lower. Budget travelers can travel in spring to reduce costsĀ and avoid crowds. Cultural lovers can visit in late March and late May to take part in the local festivals.

Kashgar Weather in SummerĀ (June – August)Ā – Scorching Sun
The Kashgar weather in summer (June – August) features extreme heat, but its hot summer period is relatively short. The average temperature in June is about 25-32°C, and that in July and August is always over 35 °C. The area near desert can reach anĀ extreme high temperature of 40°C. Though the rainfall is less, August is the month when precipitation is relatively concentrated throughout the year with more short-term thunderstorms.
It is definitely the peak season, leading to the higher travel costs. It is better to plan your tour 2 – 3 months in advance. Food lovers and energetic young travelers can visit Kashgar in summer.

Kashgar Weather in AutumnĀ (September – November) –Ā Most Comfortable

Autumn (September – November) is the most reputed season in Kashgar. The scorching heat has subsided and the temperature descends month by month. Until mid-to-late November, cold air activities are becoming more frequent, and rain, snow and significant temperature drops may occur. But the sand and dust weathers reduce significantly and there isĀ more sunny and stable weather.
With the most comfortable weather and best scenery, this period is the absolute peak season and is highly recommended to all tourists.

Kashgar Weather in WinterĀ (December – February) – Cold, Dry, & Surprisingly Sunny

Cold and dry are the main featuresĀ of Kashgar weatherĀ in winter, but it is not as cold as we imagine. The average daily temperature in the urban areas is mostly below 0 ā. But when the cold wave hits, the temperature will drop sharply to -10 ā. It also rarely snows. The sandstorm is extremely rare and the air is clear, it is the best time to capture the snow mountain and starry sky. Photographers are recommended to visit at this time.
Winter is also the low season. The air ticket and hotel prices have dropped to the lowest point of the year. It is a good time for budget travelers.

Worst Times to Visit Kashgar
When planning the tour, we usually give priority to comfort, convenience and best scenery. From this perspective, April, July and August are the worst times. In April, the frequent strong winds will result in sandstorms, greatly affecting outdoor sightseeing and photography. The scenery is also not vibrant and charming.
The main reason to avoid July and August is its extreme hot weather. You may get sunstroke. And due to the summer holiday, the attractions are crowded with people and the cost will reach the peak.
