Zhangjiajie vs Jiuzhaigou: Which Destination is Right for You?
After reading the above content for Zhangjiajie vs Jiuzhaigou, itās time to choose one of them. Generally speaking, if you prefer lakes, waterfalls, and forests and love close contact with nature, we recommend Jiuzhaigou to you, if you are fond of odd peaks and stone, and magical landscapes, Zhangjiajie is a better destination.
A Comparison Based on Our Real Experience
Based on our experience, we have to admit that the natural scenery in Jiuzhaigou ranks topĀ in China. The extremely beautiful lakes and various seasonal scenery are an unparalleled visual shock to every first-timer. The main drawback is the inconvenient transportation. Usually, we need to arrive at Chengdu first and it requires 2 transfers to get there. In this case, joining a tour group is more carefree. Besides, we can only live outside the valley. And if our itinerary includes more days, we need to take the sightseeing bus to enter the valley every day.
Zhangjiajie feast our eyes with spectacular peak forests. The thrilling entertainment and adventure hikingĀ impress us more. But the experiences are concentrated inside the scenic area, if we stay on the mountain, there are fewer dining and hotel choices. It is also not very convenient if we book the hotels in downtown area. So we think it is more suitable for touristsĀ who pursue a strong visual impact and specific outdoor projects. And due to the fame of the movie Avatar, it usually has more tourists, especially in peak season.
Why Not Visit Zhangjiajie and Jiuzhaigou Together?
If you are struggling with whether to chooseĀ Jiuzhaigou or Zhangjiajie, how about including them in one tour? Especially for those who have a vacation of over 7 days and want to enjoy two completely different top landscapes. Besides, it is also suitable for tourists who can adapt to long-distance traffic or are willing to slow down the pace.
Then, how to arrange the tour? The classic and reasonable arrangement is to start from Zhangjiajie. Specifically, spend the first 2 – 4 days experiencing hiking in the peak forests and thrilling projects. Then head to Chengdu by train or air. It is highly recommended to have a rest for 1 – 2 days here. Just relieve your fatigue through the slow-paced life here. Finally, take the high-speed train to Jiuzhaigou for a 2-day or 3-day tour. So 7 – 9 days can be an ideal time.
How many days are needed for Zhangjiajie / Jiuzhaigou?
