Shanghai is an intoxicating hybrid of ancient China and a prosperous modern metropolis. Today, your exploration begins with the Shanghai Museum at People’s Square (closed on each Monday). Established in 1952, the Shanghai Museum has a collection of more than 120,00 rare cultural pieces from the Old Stone Age to modern times. Finish the exploration of history, stroll on People Square to have a glimpse of the daily life of the locals. The square now is most famous for its match-making corner where parents try to seek partners for their children.
After then you’ll pay a visit to Urban Planning Exhibition Hall at People’s Square which showcases the ever-changing face of Shanghai and is an essential visiting point for tourists who are interested in the evolution of the city.
Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.
PM: After lunch, climb the Oriental Pearl TV Tower to obtain a panoramic view of Shanghai’s dramatic city landscape.
Then continue to visit the Nanjing Pedestrian Road. We will start at the Bund in the east and end in the west at the junction of Jing’an Temple and Yan’an West Street. Today it is a must-see metropolitan destination attracting thousands of fashion-seeking shoppers from all over the world. Wander from the eastern end of Nanjing Road to the Bund. The Bund (Waitan) is one of the most famous landmarks in Shanghai. Standing on the bank of Huangpu River, the 26 various buildings of different architectural styles including Gothic, Baroque, Romanesque, Classicism and the Renaissance are a symbol of Shanghai’s past.
At last, pay a visit to Xintiandi, which are transformed from the original residence function of Shikumen longtang (local lane) of old Shanghai into a must-visit mall which integrates fashion, leisure, culture, food and shopping for visitors home and abroad and filled with various kinds of stores.
After one day’s wonderful Shanghai tour, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel.

The Bund - Day 2: ShanghaiYuyuan Garden, Yuyuan Market, Shanghai Old Street, Jade Buddha Temple, Tianzifang (Lunch)
AM: You will meet your tour guide in your hotel lobby. Today’s adventure starts with Yuyuan Garden, a famous classical garden which was originally built for Pan’s parents as a place for them to enjoy a tranquil and happy time in their old age. Nearby is Yuyuan Market, a bustling marketplace set in an old Chinese neighborhood with traditional architecture and shops selling everything from local snacks to various souvenirs. Then take a walk on Shanghai Old Street, with a total length of 825 meters, the architectural style and business layout show the historical and cultural evolution of old Shanghai from the Ming and Qing dynasties to the fusion of western culture.
Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.
PM: After lunch, you will continue to visit the hundreds-year-old Jade Buddha Temple. The temple was built to keep two jade Buddha statues which had been brought from Burma by a monk named Huigen.
Then you will spend some leisure time at Tianzifang which was transformed from Nongtangs built in the 1930s. Taking a walk here, you will meet various creative shops, galleries, and coffee bars. Those architecture styles will remind you of the good old days.
After the tour, drive back to your hotel.
