4 Days Shanghai Highlight Tour

Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Shanghai Arrival

   Arriving in Shanghai, our driver will hold a welcome sign with your name at the airport and transfer to your hotel. Free for the rest of the day.

   Accommodation: City center hotel

2. Day 2: Shanghai
   Shanghai Museum, People’s Square, Nanjing Road, The Bund, Lujiazui Finance & Trade Zone, Jinmao Tower (Lunch)

   AM: Today's first stop is Shanghai Museum ( closed on every Monday ). The museum houses millions of collections and especially features bronze wares, porcelain works, paintings and calligraphy works.  Finish the exploration of history, stroll on People Square to have a glimpse of the daily life of the locals. The square now is most famous for its match-making corner where parents try to seek partners for their children.

   Then you will walk to Nanjing Pedestrian Road. We will start at the Bund in the east and end in the west at the junction of Jing’an Temple and Yan’an West Street. Today it is a must-see metropolitan destination that attracts thousands of fashion-seeking shoppers from all over the world.

   Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.

   PM: After lunch, we will continue to visit the new development zone in Pudong – Lujiazui Finance & Trade Zone. It is also home to a few skyscrapers such as Oriental Pearl Tower, Jin Mao Building. We’ll take the elevator to the 88-storey Observation Deck of Jinmao Tower to have a bird’s eye view of Huangpu River. After descending Jinmao Tower, drive back to your hotel.

3. Day 3: Shanghai
   Yuyuan Garden, Yuyuan Market, Shanghai Old Street, Jade Buddha Temple, Former French Concession, Longtang, Xintiandi (Lunch)

   AM: After breakfast please meet your guide and driver in hotel lobby. We will start today’s tour with Yuyuan Garden, a famous classical garden which was originally built for Pan’s parents as a place for them to enjoy a tranquil and happy time in their old age. Nearby is Yuyuan Market, a bustling marketplace set in an old Chinese neighborhood with traditional architecture and shops selling everything from local snacks to various souvenirs. Then take a walk on Shanghai Old Street, with a total length of 825 meters, the architectural style and business layout show the historical and cultural evolution of old Shanghai from the Ming and Qing dynasties to the fusion of western culture.

   Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.

   PM: After lunch we will continue to visit the hundred-year-old Jade Buddha Temple. The temple was built to keep two jade Buddha statues which had been brought from Burma by a monk named Huigen. Next, come to the Former French Concession, the largest and most prosperous concession among all the four French concessions in old China. From 1849 to 1943, this area was ruled by France for almost a century. Here your tour guide will reveal a history of humiliation and you will see many old beautiful European style buildings which look very charming hidden in the shade of French parasol trees. Then you will take a walk in Longtangs to see another side of Shanghai people’s life. At last you will pay a visit to Xintiandi Area to enjoy some leisure time.

4. Day 4: Shanghai Departure

   Our driver picks you up from hotel according to your Flight time in the morning and transfer to the airport.
