6 Days Harbin Snow Town and Changbai Mountain Tour

Day-by-day Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival in Harbin

   Welcome to Harbin, the Ice City of China! Upon your arrival, your dedicated driver will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is left for you to have an exploration on your own.

   You are advised to watch the Ice Lantern Parade, which is held every winter in Zhaolin Park. On that occasion you will see a variety of creations carved by artists such as castles, walls, houses as well as a wealth of characters and cartoons. Apart from that, you can also experience fun programs such as ice slides, ice bumper cars and ice bikes.

2. Day 2: Harbin Tour
   Experience Cultural Landmarks, Snow Sculptures, and Vibrant Ice World

   After breakfast, your guided Harbin tour will takes you to St. Sophia Cathedral. The church was built in 1907 and is one of the best preserved Byzantine buildings in China. In fact, in 1997, it was renamed "Harbin Architecture and Art Museum". However, both locals and foreign tourists prefer to call it "St. Sophia Cathedral". The most striking part of this church is the full and huge onion-head dome, which is a typical Russian architectural style of roof form, looking magnificent.

   Next, walk to Central Street, a commercial street with over 100 years of history that features many classic European-style buildings and a variety of department stores. At night, the whole street is illuminated with lights, making it a must-see in Harbin.

   

   Then, go to Sun Island Scenic Area, situated by the Songhua River. During the International Snow Sculpture Art Expo, Sun Island is transformed into an outdoor art gallery. Unlike the ice sculptures we'll see this evening at the Ice and Snow World, the ice sculptures here are more suitable for viewing during the day. You will enjoy the intricate large-scale snow sculptures from Chinese and foreign artists, which are beautiful and artistic in appearance.

   After that, You will be transferred to the Siberian Tiger Park. It is a reserve dedicated to the breeding and protection of the Northeast Tiger, aiming to provide a suitable environment for the endangered tigers. You will see wild northeast tigers, white lions, leopards and so on.

   

   After the tiger visiting, return to your hotel for a brief rest and relaxation. In the evening, you will experience the best of Harbin - the Ice and Snow World. This event was created in 1999 and is open from Christmas to early March. Here you can enjoy beautiful ice and snow sculptures as well as spectacular ice castles. At night, the ice lantern feast rendered in various colors of lights is even more fascinating. There are many entertainment programs in the Ice and Snow World, and you can climb up the ice castle, experience the world's longest ice slide, ice bikes, snowmobiles, ice rock climbing and various other activities.

   WARM TIP: Ice and Snow World can get crowded during the winter holidays or weekends. You may need to wait a long time on the queue.

3. Day 3: Harbin to Snow Town Tour
   Experience Festive Xueyun Street and Magical Snowy Night Views

   After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, we will drive to China Snow Town, about 5-6 hours drive. Upon arrival, check in at a local hotel and have a short rest. Snow Town is a small village located in the southwest mountainous area of Hailin City. Snowfall is frequent in this area, of which the best time to visit Snow Town is between December and March, when the snow is the heaviest and thickest.

   

   Xueyun Street, the liveliest part of the village, is the first stop on your Snow Town tour. This nearly 500-meter-long street is lined with stores, and the red lanterns hanging in front of the stores make for a festive atmosphere. You can try the project of pouring hot water into the sky, and then the hot water will immediately turn into ice! At night, Snow Town becomes a magical wonderland. The white snow reflects the soft light.

   Note: Snow Town is a small town, and the hotels there won't be as good as in big cities.

4. Day 4: Snow Town to Erdaobaihe
   Visit a Photographer's Paradise with Unique Snow Formations

   This morning, you will be guided to visit Dream House, which is a must-see destination for photography enthusiasts. This area is surrounded by thick snow and traditional wooden houses decorated with red lanterns. Every winter, snow falls on the eaves and roofs forming snow mushrooms of various shapes and patterns, some resembling mushrooms, clouds, and turtles.

   Say goodbye to Snow Town and we depart for Erdaobaihe Town (5-6 hours). Have a good rest in the van.

5. Day 5: Changbai Mountain Tour
   Explore Changbai Mountain's Snowy Wonders and Korean Folk Village

   After breakfast, the tour to Changbai Mountain begins! Changbai Mountain, one of the ten most famous mountains in China, is one of the most popular destinations for winter tourism in China. The "powdery snow" gives the place a fairytale-like purity.

   Your guide will take you to visit the North Slope Scenic Area of Changbai Mountain. The main attraction is the Heavenly Lake, a volcanic crater at the top of the main peak of Changbai Mountain, where water has accumulated over the ages to form a lake. It is the highest and largest alpine lake in China and is covered with snow in winter. After that, move to Changbai Waterfall, a natural wonder - frozen waterfalls.

   

   Continue your visit to Green Deep Pool. In winter, the pool is filled with mist, which is beautifully integrated with the mountains and boulders. Finally, explore the Underground Forest, a wonder hidden under the snow.

   At the end of your Changbai Mountain tour, descend then head to Changbai Korean Folk Village. Here you will admire the traditional architecture and learn about the customs of the Korean people.

6. Day 6: Departure from Harbin

   Today is your final day of this 6-day Harbin Snow Town Changbai Mountain tour. You have the morning free to relax at your own pace.

   Your driver will then escort you to the Changbaishan Airport for your onward journey to your next destination. We are always here serving you and hope to see you again!
