13 Days Silk Road Small Group Tour: Beijing, Xian, Dunhuang, Turpan, Urumqi, Shanghai
Tour Overview
The Silk Road is a vast network of trade routes connecting China, Central Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, which has been active for over 1500 years. It facilitated the exchange of commodities such as silk, spices, and porcelain. However, the Silk Road was not only a trade route, but also a bridge between civilizations, promoting the spread of Buddhism, Islam, and papermaking technology. Our 13 days Silk Road tour in China will take you to the footsteps of ancient merchants and gain a deeper understanding of the Silk Road civilization.
Our journey combines the desert treasures of the Silk Road – the oasis city of Dunhuang and its mysterious Mogao Grottoes, the ancient ruins of Turpan, and the vibrant Uighur cultural center of Urumqi – with the symbolic wonders of China’s “Golden Triangle”: the royal style of Beijing, the Terracotta Warriors of Xi’an, and the modernization of the international metropolis of Shanghai. This route is designed through efficient travel ways – flight and scenic high-speed rail, such as Dunhuang to Turpan train. With in-depth explanations from professional tour guides, you’ll travel back to the old Silk Road and learn about the basic facts, ancient history, and even what was traded on the Silk Road.
